SciFi Now is a monthly magazine focusing on the best science and fantasy-related movies, TV shows and books. I've been writing for them on a freelance basis since mid-2017, contributing news stories and multi-page feature articles.
The muppets Christmas Carol Retrospective
This was really cool. Growing up, The Muppet Christmas Carol was the staple of each and every festive season, I must have watched it about a thousand times - which made it all the more exciting getting to work on this retrospective piece uncovering the unsung story behind the making of the film. By talking to legendary Muppeteer and Gonzo's real-life alter ego Dave Goelz and Henson Company heir Brian Henson, I was able to put together this four-page feature on how Christmas managed to save the future of the Muppets at their most uncertain point. The piece hit shelves just in time for Christmas 2017.
Seth MacFarlane Talks The Orville
Having conquered the world of animation with Family Guy and American Dad, the multi-talented Seth MacFarlane has turned his sights to small-screen live action with his very own Star Trek send up, The Orville. I was lucky enough to grab a small chunk of Seth's time between recording funny voices, writing award-winning music and prepping the second season of his new show to discuss the thoughts on venturing into deep space.
Charlie Cox Talks Eat Locals
In 2017, I set myself a goal of writing for two new publications one of which turned out to be the awesome movie magazine Sci-Fi Now. This was my first feature for them, a full page Q&A with Daredevil's alter-ego Charlie Cox about his appearance in the low-budget indie horror Eat Local(s).
